Don’t Let Your “Imposter Syndrome” Haunt Your Business This Halloween

October 07, 20253 min read

Halloween is full of ghosts, ghouls, and things that go bump in the night… but for many business owners, the scariest monster of all isn’t outside — it’s in their head.

I’m talking about your imposter syndrome.
That little voice that whispers:

  • “Who do you think you are to put yourself out there?”

  • “Other groomers/business owners are more talented than you.”

  • “No one will take you seriously.”

Sound familiar? 👀

The truth is, imposter feelings creep in at the worst times — right when you’re about to launch a new offer, post on social media, raise your prices, or finally start marketing your business properly. Instead of showing up with confidence, you freeze. You hesitate. You hide behind the scenes.

And just like a haunted house, your business feels full of potential — but the lights stay off.

How Imposter Syndrome Shows Up in Your Business

Here are a few spooky ways it might be holding you back:

🎃 You stay invisible. You want to post online but spend hours second-guessing every word and picture… so you don’t post at all.

🎃 You undercharge. You worry you’re “not good enough” to ask for more, even though your skills (and bills!) say otherwise.

🎃 You procrastinate. Instead of sharing that new offer or idea, you keep tweaking it endlessly, waiting until it feels “perfect.”

🎃 You compare yourself to others. Every scroll through Instagram turns into a horror show of “I’ll never be as good as them.”

The result? Less visibility, fewer bookings, slower growth — and money left on the table.

How to Break the Spell and Move Forward

The good news is: you can stop letting your imposter syndrome haunt your business. Here’s how:

🪄 Shine a light on it. Awareness is the first step. Notice when those “not good enough” thoughts creep in and call them out for what they are — fear, not fact. The truth in the beginning you are a little bit of an imposter - fake it 'til you make it and all that jazz, but EVERYONE has to start somewhere and comparing your day 1 to someone elses day1364 is not going to do you any good.

🪄 Take messy action. Start where you are! It's the absolute best place to be right now. The antidote to imposter thoughts is action. Post the imperfect post. Share the offer even if it feels scary. Confidence builds by doing, not by waiting.

🪄 Collect evidence. Keep screenshots of kind messages, positive reviews, before-and-after photos, and anything that reminds you of the value you bring. This is your proof file against those inner ghosts.

🪄 Remember your why. You didn’t start your business to play small. You started to create freedom, income, and a career you love. Every time you put yourself out there, you’re one step closer to that. You didn't start a business to wait until everything is perfect, you started it to serve people in the best way you know how and to build the business and life of your dreams.

The Treat at the End of the Trick

Here’s the truth: the people who make more money in their business aren’t the ones who never feel like imposters. They’re the ones who keep showing up anyway. Everytime you hit a new level in your business you are probably going to feel like an imposter but, the big secret? is to move forward anyway.

This Halloween, instead of letting your imposter syndrome trick you into hiding… choose to treat yourself (and your business) by stepping into the spotlight.

Your ideal clients are out there, waiting for you — but they can’t book what they can’t see.

So grab your broomstick, banish those inner ghosts, and let your brilliance shine.
