Festive Marketing Made Simple: Simple Ways to Boost Your Grooming Business This Christmas”

November 04, 20253 min read

The Christmas season is one of the busiest — and most magical — times of the year for dog groomers. With clients eager to have their pups looking picture-perfect for family photos and festive gatherings, it’s the perfect opportunity to sprinkle a little Christmas magic into your marketing.

Here are six fun and effective marketing ideas to help your grooming business shine this festive season:

1. Host a Christmas Giveaway

Everyone loves a festive freebie! Hosting a Christmas giveaway is a great way to boost engagement and attract new followers on social media. The Christmas Giveaway was probably my favourite each year.

My Prizes were as follows -

  1. A Christmas Hamper

  2. A free standard groom

  3. A Christmas Stocking or small santa bag full of dog treats

Encourage followers to like, comment, and share your post to enter — and make sure the prize ties in with your services. It’s a simple way to build excitement and introduce your salon to new pet parents in your area.

2. Create a Short Christmas Ad for Social Media

You don’t need a big budget to make a festive video that grabs attention.

For two years create (with the help of a few friends) a proper Christmas ad which I shared on social media. I will be sharing these in my social media to give all ideas and show you what I came up with.

My tips wouls be -

  1. Rope n a few willing friends both human and canine.

  2. Film a few clips of you grooming a dog with twinkly decorations in the background, or show a “before and after” glow-up transformation with Christmas music playing.

  3. Keep it short, fun, and full of festive spirit. Post it to Instagram Reels, Facebook, or TikTok — these platforms love seasonal, feel-good content!

3. Offer Christmas Vouchers

Gift vouchers are perfect for last-minute shoppers (and dog lovers who already have everything).
Design simple printable or digital vouchers that clients can buy as gifts for friends or family. I created mine on canva and printed them on my home printer.

Display them at your salon, mention them in your social posts, and remind your clients about them in your December messages.

4. Attend Local Christmas Fairs or Markets

Local fairs are packed with dog owners — and they’re always on the lookout for local pet businesses.
Set up a festive stand with flyers, business cards, and a few small products or vouchers to sell. You could even offer free festive bow ties or a “win a free groom” raffle to draw people in. Chatting face-to-face with local pet parents is one of the best ways to grow your client base and build trust in your community.

5. Create Christmas Posters or Flyers

Not everyone finds you online — so don’t forget offline marketing!

Design bright, festive posters and flyers advertising your Christmas grooming slots, special offers, or gift vouchers.

Pop them up in local pet shops, cafes, and vet clinics. A well-placed flyer can make a big difference, especially in small towns or tight-knit communities.

6. Your Own Dogs Are Your Best Advertising

If you have your own dogs, they’re walking billboards for your business!

Make sure they’re freshly groomed, smelling lovely, and looking festive when you take them out and about.

Add a Christmas bow, bandana, or collar charm — people will stop and comment. When they do, it’s the perfect chance to mention your grooming business and hand out a card or flyer.

Final Thoughts

Christmas is the ideal time to make your business sparkle — both online and offline. With a little creativity and festive flair, you can attract new clients, delight existing ones, and finish the year feeling proud and profitable.

So grab the tinsel, pop on the Christmas playlist, and start spreading that glossy, festive cheer!
